I’ve been a member since 2003 and just recently stepped down from our chapter board. In the past seven years I have learned innumerable lessons, gained invaluable skills, met a host of colleagues and friends both locally and nationally, and participated in and organized more than a dozen initiatives and programs that have strengthened my community. I would not be the person/designer I am today had I not been involved in AIGA.

A student member who graduated to the professional world moved across the country and I was able to help her connect with her new local AIGA chapter.

An AIGA member I met at a national event became a valuable resource for a student who recently left our chapter and moved across the country to start working as a professional.

I have good faith that these two AIGA members will connect and the seasoned AIGA member and her chapter will help provide the kind of network a young working professional needs when starting a new life and career.

I have a great network.

I have met a wonderful and diverse range of people because of my involvement with AIGA. Some of these people are now among my closest friends.

My involvement in AIGA allows me to support the profession, which benefits me in the long run by strengthening the field that employs me. This is good for my work prospects and I know that if I ever need help in the professional realm, I have a solid network of supportive, wonderful, caring, smart, engaged and dedicated peers.
