1 AIGA gives me a global perspective on Design and a role that I can aspire grow into. In a smaller market like Reno/Tahoe I might be working on a Website one minute, a TV spot the next, then an Identity the next. It is difficult to specialize or to focus on the future. The AIGA community does that for me.

We are a two person shop and our commitment and connection to AIGA gives us a global perspective.

Yep, I got a discount in Pivot tickets and I ended up paying $100 less than non-member pricing. Hoorah for AIGA!

I like to interact with like minded creatives and the best way to meet up and share ideas is through AIGA. AIGA gives me the opportunity to help other designers and to continually learn. Thanks AIGA.

I was tired of professional organizations that focused more on networking and socializing than giving me content that was useful in my profession. AIGA inspires me to keep improving my work, and keeps my passion alive for design.

If it was not for Jenna H., I wouldn’t even know about AIGA.

Last semester, I stepped out of my bubble and joined the university advertising club. I didn’t know what I was doing or know anyone there. I did know that I wanted to become involved so I started going to all the meetings and events. I think because of my commitment to the club, Jenna, the president, sent me a personal e-mail and invited me to one of the AIGA events. So I went.

I realized that AIGA was a community that I wanted to become involved with so I made it my goal to get over my shyness and become apart of something more, something with meaning.

I am very glad I have joined AIGA. It has not only opened by eyes to the design world and allowed me to meet other people in the community but it allowed me to do what Jenna did for me and that was to get other people involved in such a great thing. Thanks Jenna!

I joined AIGA as a sophomore in college. There was no student group, barely even a chapter in Reno/Tahoe. None the less, I joined and immediately saw the benefits.
My favorite part then, was getting the AIGA books in the mail and browsing the book cover design archives. It made me realize how much I wanted to be a designer. I wanted to do that.

I now am an award winning designer under the direction of great people and friends from the Reno/Tahoe chapter. I have made valuable connections with people all over the world and I thank AIGA.

David was the Jewish uncle I never had. Back when I lived in LA, David encouraged me to join and not soon after I joined the LA board with then chapter President Moira Cullen.

In terms of both my professional career and personal life, joining AIGA really marks a long and continued era of inspiration, friendships, collaboration, and a confidence in my abilities to envision, create and affect change.

I’m always amazed (yet not surprised) in the power of like-minded people collaborating to make great things happen. That was the foundation for the Reno-Tahoe chapter which I helped start in 2007 with a group of such folks. I really look at the Reno Tahoe chapter as a major accomplishment especially when I look at what we’ve accomplished and the house now being build upon its foundation.

I was introduced to AIGA by a co-worker, Kelly Wallis, while I was interning when I was 19. She introduced me to the President of our chapter, Stan Byers, who taught me an unbelievable amount about design history, trends and having passion for your craft. I will be a member for life and I feel so fortunate to be a part of a community of design as supportive, open-minded and inspiring as AIGA.

I feel like I’m part of fraternity, where there is no pretense or “I’m better than you” attitude. I’m part of the network.

It helps me validate my profession to non-designers, and it lends credibility to my work.
