The rogues are rounded up

It’s hard to put a finger on the benefits of AIGA for me. As a young designer, it provided opportunities to rub shoulders with notable designers in the community, and to be inspired by hearing lectures, attending studio tours, etc. In recent years, interest in those things has waned, and so has my activity in the AIGA.

Just knowing a professional organization like AIGA exists for the local and national design community is a fine benefit. Knowing that good work is being recognized by your peers, and is available to see and read about in the annuals and online is important. And no matter my involvement, knowing that the AIGA is watching out for our interests in the world as a whole gives me just a bit more confidence and validity to what I do.
