I have grown up through AIGA, starting first as a student designer. I have been a member of several chapters: Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit and now Toledo. AIGA has always been a place for me to test my wings, and take me out of the comfortable spaces of the familiar. Now that I’m a design educator, I am able to help my students go through the same. However, I am still very much engaged in active learning through being a part of the leadership of our local AIGA chapter, and have begun to get involved at a greater level too. Without AIGA I’d be bereft.
